Let’s Celebrate Lights On Afterschool!
October 24th, 2019 is almost here! This is the day to celebrate afterschool with Lights On Afterschool, a nationwide celebration organized by the Afterschool Alliance. Lights On Afterschool has been happening for 20 years. Lights On Afterschool recognizes the way afterschool programs support students, families, and communities. One of the ways afterschool programs provide opportunities is to help kids grow into successful adults.
Afterschool Inspires Kids to Learn
Do you have kids? What are they doing between the hours of 3 pm and 6 pm? Are they with someone? Alone? Millions of kids are alone after school and unsupervised. But students who are in afterschool programs not only keep kids safe but inspire learning! Parents, rest easy knowing that if your child is in an afterschool program, they are engaged in fun learning opportunities. Stronger Austin Kids Is Celebrating Afterschool Hours!
Stronger Austin Kids provides afterschool programming to sites in Austin and Del Valle. Our programs get kids up and active by playing soccer, cooperative active games, teaching them about nutrition, and more! We are excited to celebrate Lights On Afterschool this year with our community at Hart and Wooten Elementary!
We also recognize the hard work our instructors put into our program to celebrate Lights On Afterschool! Stronger Austin Kids Instructors provide a safe and fun environment for students after school. Instructors are college students, employees, teachers, leaders, and much more! Our instructors are role models for our students to lead happy and healthy lives. They are our frontline team members and the faces the students we serve see every day.
