Meet Jessica: Future Pediatrician and Stronger Austin Kids Instructor

We would like to put the spotlight on an amazing Stronger Austin Kids Instructor: Jessica Medrano!

Stronger Austin Kids instructor, Jessica, is facing the camera and stands before a white wall. She is smiling and wears a flannel shirt.

What Does Jessica do as a Stronger Austin Kids Instructor?

Jessica began working for Stronger Austin this fall at Hart Elementary. She works with both first and second-grade students. She understands the importance of establishing and growing relationships with her students, which is why she goes out of her way to talk to each child in her class. Taking this time to talk to each student individually ensures they feel happy and they know someone cares for them.

Connecting and Teaching Kids About Health!

Jessica really enjoys her time working as a Stronger Austin Kids Instructor and with It’s Time Texas. She says, “Being an after school instructor at It’s Time Texas has truly captured my heart. It’s Time Texas has given me the opportunity to experience what it’s like to go to work, but not feel like I’m working. I am grateful that I am able to open up the minds of these young kids and teach them about eating smart and being active. Not only am I changing their lives, but I know they are changing mine.”

What’s Next for Jessica?

Jessica is currently attending the University of Texas in Austin, where she majors in neuroscience. Once she completes her degree, she plans on becoming a pediatrician. We’re sure that no matter where she ends up, she will be making a positive impact on other people’s lives. Thanks, Jessica for all that you do for your students!
