Current Programming

Current Programming

SA Kids general programming is run primarily through the after school program at Austin ISD elementary schools and Austin’s Parks and Recreation Centers. It is focused on delivering a variety of activities such as tag games, relay races, and team games; in addition to delivering nutrition lessons focused on educating kids on MyPlate, encouraging fruit and vegetable consumption, and healthy beverage and snack consumption.

SA Kids soccer programming is run via the Leading Enrichment Afterschool in Del Valle (LEAD) program in DVISD. Soccer coaches work directly with students to foster sports-specific soccer skills as well as teaching them about the importance of nutrition. All 9 Del Valle elementary schools are given the chance to show off their skills and compete in soccer tournaments throughout the school year.

General programming but held during the day instead of after school hours! Programming provided at PARD’s summer playground is available to all - just drop by and let your child enjoy some playtime! SA Kids summer programming is also provided at select school sites.

Instructor Spotlight

Lybbie Dang

We’d like to recognize Lybbie Dang, one of our Stronger Austin Kids instructors and interns!

Lybbie has worked at Rodriguez Elementary and Ramsey Neighborhood Park and does an excellent job in building relationships with her students in addition to the other staff. In addition to Lybbie’s responsibilities as an instructor, she does a fantastic job with her office responsibilites as an intern and shows her creativity throughout all of her projects.

Lybbie says “While at It’s Time Texas, I have learned to be patient as well as productive in tackling multiple projects at once. With my role as an Instructor at the Afterschool program, I have enjoyed being a part of an organization that's mission is to shape the young minds about the ways on being healthy. Seeing the kids wide-eyed and curious about healthy and nutrition facts that we discuss with them warms my heart. I had a pleasure in supervising, growing and making new memories with these kids. An impact I can make to these young minds goes a long way in making a difference in their lives and mine. Thank you, It’s Time Texas, for giving me the opportunity to express my passion for health and expressing how health is important to these young individuals. It’s time to make a change for the better!”

Thank you, Lybbie, for your hard work and dedication!
